Registration of births for a child born in  Saint Lucia

A person shall, not later than six (6) months after the birth of a child, apply to register the birth of that child within the district of child's birth.

• Registration within the six months period is free of charge.

• Baptism certificate of child/subject, if baptised.
• Health card
• Valid form of National Identification of parents (ID, passport, driver's licence)
• Birth notification (Hospital Paper) from where the child was born.
• Completed registration form.
• Marriage Certificate (for mother, if married)
• For non-national, passport should be presented
• If the mother was married to the child's father at the time, either parents may proceed to register the birth.
• For insertion of father's name on birth record for a child born to an unwed mother; submit the additional documents; Affidavit of Mother, Affidavit of Father.

• If the birth is not registered within the six (6) months as prescribed by law, an appointment is required with the Registrar of Civil Status.
